Our school offers an After-School Study programme to provide students with a quiet, structured environment in which to complete homework and revision outside of normal class time.
Purpose of after-school study
After-school study is designed to:

Support good study habits and independent learning

Provide a calm and supervised space for homework and revision

Help students manage their time more effectively

Support preparation for assessments and State Examinations
The programme is particularly beneficial for students who find it difficult to study at home.
How after-school study operates

After-school study takes place every afternoon except Wednesday and begins at 3.55pm each day (this allows students to have a break after school ends at 3:45pm
- The study session ends at 5:45pm each day

Sessions are supervised by a teacher who is a member of the supervised study team

Students are expected to work quietly and independently during study time

Attendance is recorded, and school behaviour standards apply at all times
Costs and term dates are communicated to parents in advance.
Student expectations
Students attending after-school study are expected to:

Arrive on time and remain for the full session

Bring the necessary books and materials

Work quietly and respectfully

Follow the instructions of the supervising staff member
Persistent disruption or misuse of study time may result in a student being withdrawn from the programme.
Parental support
Parents play an important role by:

Discussing study goals and routines with their child

Ensuring students are collected promptly at the end of study

Supporting regular attendance once a place has been accepted
