Brian Howard

“I have many fond memories of Fintan’s right through my 6 years in the school. The interaction with the teachers and the sports life really gave me a wonderful schooling experience. Throughout the 6 years in Fintan’s, I’ve developed lifelong friends and created memories that will stay with me for the rest of my life.”
Recent graduate Brian Howard is a Raheny native making a name for himself on the Dublin Senior Football team. Brian is currently studying and commented that “The strong focus on academics challenged me to reach my potential.” Brian is one of our many alumni who took part in the Zambian aid project working with our partner school Sables Nua in Kabwe, he cites this as the highlight of his time in Fintan’s.

Danny Michaels

“I’ll never forget working on some of the transition year musicals. It was brilliant to see so many of my fellow students show such an interest in theatre and really invest in the shows during the whole process.”
Danny Michaels (aka Daniel Murphy) is currently in the West End cast of the musical Wicked and is very much a rising star of the stage. Danny caught the acting bug as a first year student in a musical production of Tommy and later went on to star in Little Shop of Horrors during his own Transition Year experience in St. Fintan’s. He reflects very warmly on his experiences here in St. Fintan’s acknowledging that “The school is responsible for giving me a couple of my closest friends who I’m sure I’ll have for the rest of my life and that will definitely keep me connected to the school for a long time. I’ll always look back on my time here with fond memories.”

Diarmuid McHugh

“The sense of camaraderie built up in the classroom and on the playing fields. The friendships created then have stood the test of time.”
Diarmuid McHugh is a local businessman and entrepreneur, most recognised for his company’s supermarkets, off licences and restaurants located in Raheny, Artane and Kilbarrack. Graduating in the 80’s Diarmuid attributes a great deal of the confidence and strength necessary to succeed in the economic climate of that era to the education received from ‘great friends and teachers’ in St. Fintan’s. His sons have followed in his footsteps through the St. Fintan’s doors and Diarmuid is a great supporter and friend of the school community here in St. Fintan’s.
